'Reading 'Inherit My Bosom' Whilst Being Splashed With Water' July 2008, Berlin.
The poem was written using the 'cut-up technique' famed by Tristan Tzara. The article was in the G2 section of the Guardian, it was questioning whether performance was an excuse for bad behavior and mentioned 'Mad For Real'. Before the reading, I gave the audience glasses of water and asked them if they would splash my face during the recital of the poem, one by one. I saw this a consequential distraction as I could not see or voice what I was supposed to be reading.

I wrote a list of words which rhymed or sounded alike. These words were forced to make a poem where the ending always rhymed. The rule that I had set myself of using every word in the list proved to be an arduous task. Sometimes, I had no choice but to write sentences which didn't fit the story, often using the wrong verb, adjective or applying a different tense. Although contrived, it provided humerous consequences. One would presume it had been written by an amateur or a child.
For the performance, I found images from the internet to match the words in the list and compiled them into a powerpoint presentation. Subsequently, I read out the poem.
